Live Training Cohorts
ABC Cohort Description
Through this intensive course, participants will engage in live training and mentoring sessions utilizing the ABC Equipped to Counsel workbook, interact with case studies, collaborate as a group, and acquire valuable insights and tools pertinent to the counseling process. Upon completion of this training, all requirements for the Level 1 ABC Certificate will have been fulfilled. Additionally, a "non-certification" pathway will be available for those who wish to pursue the training solely for personal growth and experience.
During the training, one will be able to:

Develop a philosophy of biblical counseling

Weekly lessons from Equipped to Counsel by Dr. John Henderson

Read various articles and complete short conversation-style response papers

Watch required seminars from Paul David Tripp and write short conversation-style response papers

Be able to interact as a cohort group and learn from one another

Have access to a mentor throughout the process who is already certified
-
You will be able to address issues such as sin, addictions, relational issues, anger, anxiety, depression, and sexuality
Once the course is completed and students have received their level 1 certificate, they can pursue the level 2 certificate, further developing the student through exams, case studies, mentoring, and supervised counseling hours.

Requirements for training:

Each student must complete the required reading and assignments throughout the course

Each student is expected to join the live training and participate in the discussions

Time to complete the course is around 7 months, with about 1 hour per day completing the work

Each student is expected to fulfill the practicum requirements of counseling another individual (outside their own family) for 10 sessions

Each student is expected to read and complete the required material before each live session

Students will be expected to hold to the standards set forth by ABC’s mission and beliefs found here

When & Where:
All training will be conducted through the ABCs Moodle classroom, providing hands-on experience and assignments. The live training portions will vary depending on the type of training. For in-person training, we will meet twice a month. For virtual training, we will meet twice a month via Google Meet.

How much does it cost:
Cost for mentoring and training services is $426
ABC charges a fee of $574 for the certification process done through ABC via the registration link that is sent out prior to enrollment (books, materials, ABC membership, and enrollment fee)
Total cost for Level 1 is $1,000
We can reserves spots at $100 per person.
For the non-certification pathway: $100 for the book and training.
