FAQ

What does the counseling process look like?
-
Well, this can be a little bit different for each person. But generally, we ask a lot of questions and listen in the first session so we can fully understand who you are and what is going on. In the session that follows, we consider that information in light of Scripture, then follow up with some actionable steps. This may involve homework such as journaling, Scripture memorization, and working through our handouts, etc. Our goal is to help you through this season of life and set you up for the next.

How long will the counseling process take?
-
Again, this will be a little bit different for each person. 6-8 sessions are about normal, possibly a few more sessions depending on the depth of issues being covered. This largely depends on you and how quickly the problems are resolved.

How much will counseling cost?
-
Counseling is currently based on a donation system. We believe in making counseling affordable and accessible to everyone who may need it. As such, we ask that donations be made to this ministry because it costs money to operate, but they are not required to receive counseling. Donations can be made on the booking page for your convenience and on the counseling services page here. Please note that there is a $10 cancellation fee for all no-shows and appointments canceled within 24-hours of appointment.

Is counseling kept confidential?
-
Absolutely. When you sign up for counseling, you will be asked to sign a form that includes our privacy agreement. We will never share your information or anything we discuss with anyone without your knowledge and consent.

What is virtual counseling like?
-
Virtual counseling is the same as in-person counseling, only it is in an online meeting via Zoom. It will be the same process that anyone else goes through. When signing up for counseling, you will again be asked to sign a form agreeing to counseling, and on that form, you can select the virtual option. Once submitted, you will receive a confirmation email along with a link to the meeting and instructions for logging in. If you have any issues with the meeting, please email rdawson28@outlook.com

What's Biblical counseling?
-
Biblical counseling is a form of discipleship, but more in-depth and personalized for your specific problems. We look at what Scriptures say together and see how they help us in our current season of life and the next. We make action plans to help us walk as God would have us to walk. The goal of Biblical counseling is to help each other become more like Christ in every way. Throughout my website and in my blogs, you can learn much more about all of this.
